Continental Market - The continental market makes it’s first visit to the Maritime Festival. Wander around the many stalls selling delicacies including sun-ripened olives, Parma ham, anti pasti from Italy, fresh bread, paella, cheeses, chocolates and much more. This typical Continental Market include traders coming from France, Holland, Germany, Italy, Spain, Germany, Poland and Sweden in traditional costumes selling their delicious foods and charming crafts.

Another new feature of this year’s festival is “A Taste of… Hartlepool”, developed by the Tourism Team. It comprises a series of events in which local restaurants work in partnership with Hartlepool College of Further Education to develop and enhance the selected menus.
A temporary new eating experience is located in the Navigation Point car park. The Pavilion will be a fully functioning restaurant, staffed by the college’s Catering students and organised with assistance from the participating businesses. It is a great opportunity for the students to gain hands-on experience within a working restaurant, as well as showcasing their talents.
The pavilion will offer an extra restaurant to to provide tempting food for many of the thousands of visitors flocking to the town for the festival. Includes take-away service.
